With the growing complexity of policy issues in India, it becomes important to effectively analyse public policy throughout the policy cycle. One of the major reasons why policy implementation in India is sub-par is due to the lack of relevant and timely policy analysis. Better monitoring and evaluation strategies can more effectively create, implement, and deliver policy solutions to a large number of people. What is especially important is the limited resources that a developing country like India has. These tools can greatly reduce the resources needed to deliver these policy solutions, by keeping the government accountable and transparent in their workings.

Association for Public Policy Education (APPE), in collaboration with Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR), is organising a panel discussion on “Does Monitoring and Evaluation Matter in Public Service Delivery?”
